SUNIX SER6437AL 2-Port RS-232 Low Profile PCI Express Serial Card

The SUNIX SER6437AL is the low-profile version of SUNIX's 2-port RS-232 PCI Express serial card. It adds two independent COM ports to slim, small-form-factor and compact industrial PCs. Most modern motherboards ship with one serial port or none, so this card keeps PLCs, HMIs, scanners, scales, modems and other legacy serial devices connected to new hardware that only has room for low-profile cards.

The low-profile bracket can't fit two DB9 connectors, so the card uses a single DB44 female connector. A 40 cm breakout cable included in the box splits it into two standard DB9 male serial ports. The card is built around the SUNIX SUN2212 native PCIe UART controller, with a 128-byte hardware FIFO and on-chip automatic hardware flow control to prevent data loss. It meets PCI Express Base Specification 2.0 and, as an x1 card, fits x1, x2, x4, x8 or x16 slots. All serial signals have ±15 kV ESD protection to IEC 61000-4-2.

WHQL-certified drivers cover Windows XP through Windows 11 and Windows Server 2003 through 2022, and drivers are also available for Linux kernel 2.x to 6.x and DOS.
